Eyes and attention
The eyes do not merely receive: they take a direction. That direction changes what is felt, not only what is seen.
Outer gaze and inner gaze
The gaze can be turned outwards, towards an object, or inwards, towards what happens in the body while one is looking. The model works on the conscious move between these two directions.
Attention
Attention can narrow onto a point or widen to the field. Narrowing and widening are neither right nor wrong: they are two modes, and the difficulty arises when only one of them remains available.
