Perception

Body and sensing

The body is the place where perception occurs: observing it as it happens is the first instrument of the work.

Observation of the body

The work begins by noticing what is already present — contact, breath, tension, temperature — without first altering it.

Coherence between sensations

Sensations may agree or contradict one another. The coherence between them is one of the indicators by which the model describes the perceptual state.

The nature of this work

What is set out in this area is an anthropological and experiential model developed by Gaspare Russo. It is not presented as clinically demonstrated neuroscience.

Where relevant scientific studies exist, they are cited as such; where a statement is still hypothetical, the page says so.
